day#47295: counting down.
havent been writing for a long while, since work and planning for the trip have been taking up most of my time. actually, m has been doing most of the planning, while i regretfully have been burying myself in work, work and more work. new year's eve, we met up for the third time to sort out some last minute issues, had a wonderful 3hour odd discussion about itineraries and day-trips, and got down to finalizing the nitty-gritty details.
or so we thought.
there were some issues that came into the picture shortly after. i mean we were pretty amicable about it, trying to thrash out issues via msn. but the conversation we had, mainly about paris transport and museum passes, was starting to take its toil on me after not being able to come to a compromisation, after 45 minutes. and then there was the issue about lodging, but we shant go into further details. point is, after all that conflicts, ive decided we should go our separate ways, literally, which means i'll do europe on my own.
it's a rather intimidating thought to be honest, since i havent been to europe, and there are safety issues i should be concerned about. but really, it's now or never.
since m was the one doing most of the research and planning, after we've decided to go separate ways, i have had to go through the entire itinerary all over again, and make huge changes to it, one of it was to drop switzerland this time round. not an easy decision, but i dont want to be rushing through spain (barcelona, madrid, toledo, aranjuez, el escorial...) and france (paris, nice, villefranche su-mer, eze, monaco, cannes, grasse...), so switzerland has to go, so i had taken yesterday off and spent one whole day in front of the computer planning and planning, rescheduling and rescheduling.
never knew how time-consuming and eye-power zapping that can be, im not done yet, but have at least settled on lodgings and itineraries in general, just need to get down to the smaller details like getting about and transport passes.
cant believe im leaving in a month's time.
(:
